Ana Mendes is a writer and visual artist living and working in London and Berlin. Mendes finished and M. A. in Writing for Performance at Goldsmiths College, London, studied animation film at la Poudriére - École du Film d'Animation, in France, and Photography at Bauhaus University, Weimar, Germany. Mendes became a performer by accident, in 2010, when she wrote Self-portrait, a play based on her identity. She develops projects, in which she uses sound, text, video and photography in order to speak on subjects, such as language, identity and memory. Her work revolves around the idea of movement and ryhthm.
